About
China-Japan Friendship Hospital is a large comprehensive tertiary Grade A hospital directly under the National Health Commission, opened on October 23, 1984. The hospital name was inscribed by Hu Yaobang (then General Secretary of the CPC Central Committee) and Deng Yingchao (then Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee). The hospital currently has 1,610 authorized beds (including North and West districts), integrating medical treatment, teaching, research, and preventive healthcare. It undertakes central healthcare tasks and national health emergency rescue missions, with an affiliated Clinical Medical Research Institute. It also serves as the WHO Collaborating Center for Tobacco Cessation and Respiratory Disease Prevention and the National Telemedicine Management and Training Center. As China's first foreign aid project after reform and opening-up, it was the most internationally-oriented and best-equipped modern hospital at the time. Since its inception, the hospital has stood at the forefront of the era, carrying the mission of hospital system reform, medical research innovation, and building a world-class modern hospital.
