About
Longhua Hospital, Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was founded in July 1960 and is one of the four earliest established traditional Chinese medicine clinical bases in the country. Over nearly sixty years, the hospital has adhered to the development strategy of "famous experts, famous departments, famous hospital, famous medicines," following the path of traditional Chinese medicine-based and integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine, becoming a national famous traditional Chinese medicine hospital, national model traditional Chinese medicine hospital, and Shanghai tertiary Grade-A hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, and scientific research with distinctive traditional Chinese medicine characteristics and prominent traditional Chinese medicine advantages. The main hospital is located at No. 725 Wanping South Road, Xuhui District, Shanghai, and the branch hospital at No. 45, Lane 1000, Shangnan Road, Shanggangercun, Pudong. The east and west hospitals cover a total area of 77.93 acres with 1,250 authorized beds. The hospital has distinctive traditional Chinese medicine characteristics, with unique advantages in traditional Chinese medicine treatment of malignant tumors, bone degenerative diseases, kidney disease, gallstone disease, rheumatism, eye disease, breast disease, anorectal disease, spleen and stomach disease, lung disease, and ulcer disease. The hospital also offers winter tonic herbal paste outpatient clinics, winter disease summer treatment outpatient clinics, and traditional Chinese medicine characteristic physical examination outpatient services. Annual outpatient and emergency visits exceed 4.05 million, with over 63,000 annual inpatient discharges.
