Putuo District Central Hospital is a state-owned non-profit medical institution built in 1957. The hospital covers 27,000 square meters with a building area of 58,000 square meters, featuring 35 wards, 820 inpatient beds, and 15 emergency observation beds. It handles over 21,000 annual inpatient admissions, 6,000 surgeries, and over 1 million outpatient and emergency visits. As a large comprehensive Grade II Class A hospital, it serves as the Putuo Clinical Medical College of Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The hospital has over 1,300 staff members, including over 1,100 healthcare professionals, 109 with associate professor or senior physician titles. Among its 29 clinical departments, the cardiology department is a Shanghai medical leading specialty, the traditional Chinese medicine department is a Shanghai demonstration TCM department, and the TCM oncology department is a Shanghai characteristic specialty.
