Shanghai Ruijin Hospital Group Minhang Hospital is located in Xinzhuang, the seat of Minhang District government in southwest Shanghai. Founded in April 1969, it was renamed Shanghai Minhang District Central Hospital in 1993 when the original Minhang District and Shanghai County merged, and officially joined Ruijin Hospital Group in August 2000. The hospital covers 44,900 square meters with a building area of 66,000 square meters and greenery coverage exceeding 50%. Since 1997, it has been consecutively awarded the municipal "Civilized Unit" title twice. The hospital has 600 approved beds with 26 clinical departments and 6 medical technology departments. Neurosurgery, endoscopy, and traditional Chinese medicine breast disease are Minhang District's characteristic specialties. The hospital possesses spiral CT, interventional C-arm machine, computed radiography diagnostic system, digital gastrointestinal and digital X-ray diagnostic series, Philips TU6 high-end color ultrasound, HP 5500 color Doppler echocardiography, ophthalmic phacoemulsification device, fully automatic complete biochemical analyzer, endoscopy system, laparoscope, ophthalmic YAG laser, extracorporeal shock wave lithotripter, and other advanced medical testing and diagnostic equipment. As a teaching hospital, it undertakes medical and nursing teaching and clinical internship tasks for Shanghai Second Medical University, Workers' Medical College, and Wannan Medical College. Since 1982, it has received multiple national achievement awards including National Invention Award, Shanghai Science and Technology Invention Achievement Award, and District Science and Technology Progress Award. The hospital currently has 800 staff members and 280 physicians, including 3 doctoral supervisors, 6 master's supervisors, and over 80 associate professors and associate chief physicians or above working on the hospital's medical frontline. Since 1998, the Minhang District government has gradually renovated the hospital, constructing 46,000 square meters of new outpatient, emergency, and inpatient buildings. Since joining Ruijin Hospital Group, the group has dispatched management and various experts for management, implementing Grade II Class A hospital charging standards while providing Grade III Class A hospital level medical services.
