Shanghai Jiao Tong University Medical College Affiliated Third People's Hospital is located in Baoshan District at the mouth of the Yangtze River. It is the only tertiary comprehensive hospital in the northern wing of Shanghai that integrates medical treatment, teaching, and research. The hospital features fresh decor, reasonable layout, standardized procedures, and a large courtyard-style garden with fountains and flowing water, making it an ideal place for patient treatment and rehabilitation. Established in 1980, after 25 years of construction and development, Third People's Hospital has become a large comprehensive hospital with scientific management, advanced facilities, complete specialties, and major features in trauma emergency care and cardiovascular diseases. In 1997, it was officially recognized by the Ministry of Health as a network hospital for emergency rescue. The hospital currently has 31 clinical departments, 502 approved beds, nearly 900 staff members, and over 100 professors and associate professors, with a group of highly skilled and ethical medical experts. In recent years, under the leadership of the hospital's Party and administrative team, using social needs as the driving force for hospital development, the entire hospital has been actively reforming, developing, and innovating, presenting an increasingly new image. It has also established trauma emergency center, imaging diagnosis center, interventional treatment center, hemodialysis center, X-knife radiotherapy center, burn and plastic surgery center, and hyperbaric oxygen treatment center. Many high-difficulty and high-tech diagnosis and treatment projects that could not be carried out in Baoshan District in the past, such as coronary angiography, stent placement, radiofrequency ablation, ERCP, small bowel imaging, tumor interventional therapy, hyperthermia, radiotherapy, spinal surgery, and thoracic surgery, have been maturely developed, bringing real convenience and benefits to Baoshan residents' medical treatment.
