Shanghai Jiao Tong University Affiliated Ruijin Hospital Luwan Branch, formerly known as Luwan District Central Hospital, is a secondary comprehensive hospital. Its predecessor was Nanyang Hospital, the largest private hospital in Shanghai, founded in 1918. In October 1999, it partnered with Ruijin Hospital and was renamed. The hospital is located in central Shanghai with 400 approved beds and over 700 staff members. It is a teaching hospital of Shanghai Jiao Tong University School of Medicine and Bengbu Medical College. The hospital has departments including internal medicine, surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, pediatrics, and other clinical and medical technology departments, with specialties in gastroenterology, respiratory, endocrinology, neurology, hematology, general surgery, orthopedics, pediatric orthopedics, urology, gynecology, pediatrics, and more. Since the partnership, the hospital has continuously improved its infrastructure and updated diagnostic equipment. The 16-story comprehensive ward building features modern architectural design with hotel-style layout. The outpatient and emergency building is spacious and bright with complete facilities. The hospital adheres to the principle of resource sharing and complementary advantages, with Ruijin Hospital Group dispatching over 20 specialists to guide clinical work, research, and teaching at the branch, opening specialist clinics, presiding over difficult case discussions, and carrying out minimally invasive interventional therapy and laparoscopic surgery, enabling patients at the branch to enjoy tertiary hospital medical conditions and quality.
