Guangzhou Medical University Liwan Hospital is a new modern comprehensive hospital integrating medical treatment, healthcare, teaching, scientific research, and community health guidance, resulting from cooperation and reorganization between Liwan District Government and Guangzhou Medical University. It is a teaching hospital for higher medical colleges in Guangdong Province, a designated unit of Guangzhou's social medical insurance, and a member of Guangzhou's "120" Emergency Center. The hospital is located in Guangzhou's central urban area, at the intersection of Zhongshan Eighth Road and Liwan Road, north of Liuhua Lake, south of Liwan Lake, east of Metro Line 1 Chenjiaci Station (approximately 200 meters), and west of Guangzhou West Suburban Bus Station (approximately 200 meters), with beautiful environment and convenient transportation. The hospital covers approximately 40,000 square meters of building area, with a 22-story comprehensive medical building (two underground parking levels). The hospital currently has 356 open beds, 30 clinical departments, 59 specialty outpatient clinics, and 57 expert clinics, with orthopedics, endocrinology, and traditional Chinese medicine orthopedics as Liwan District key specialties. The hospital employs 696 staff members, including 565 medical technical personnel, 75 with senior professional titles, 130 with intermediate professional titles, and 30 with master's degrees or above (including 1 doctor and 1 postdoctoral fellow). Currently, hospital disciplines are developing rapidly, with some disciplines holding advantageous positions within the province and city. The otolaryngology snoring specialty pioneered surgical treatment of sleep apnea syndrome in the city, having performed over 800 surgeries and holding a leading position in this field. Orthopedics is a Liwan District key discipline, excelling in using integrated traditional Chinese and Western medicine and minimally invasive techniques to treat bone and joint diseases with distinctive treatment methods.
