Guangzhou Work Injury Rehabilitation Center (Guangzhou Work Injury Rehabilitation Hospital) is an administrative institution affiliated with Guangzhou Labor and Social Security Bureau, officially opened on October 28, 2002. It is the nation's first specialized hospital focusing on work injury rehabilitation, providing rehabilitation services for Guangzhou work-injured employees and other disabled patients. The hospital's mission is to maximize the restoration and improvement of work-injured employees' and disabled patients' physical functions and self-care abilities through medical rehabilitation and occupational rehabilitation, and restore their occupational work capacity as much as possible, thereby restoring their self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-reliance, enabling them to return to society and participate in social life. Guangzhou Work Injury Rehabilitation Hospital is located on the scenic Liuxi River bank in Conghua Hot Spring, with total building area of approximately 7,000 square meters. The organizational structure currently has eleven departments: office, medical department, finance department, general affairs department, information department, work injury management department, rehabilitation department, neurological rehabilitation ward, orthopedic rehabilitation ward, medical technology department, and nursing department. Equipped with 500mA X-ray machine, Siemens Adam B-ultrasound, KEYPOINT electromyography, fully automatic biochemical analyzer, and various advanced rehabilitation treatment and assessment equipment. Particularly, the BTE rehabilitation assessment system can comprehensively assess patients' physical functions and occupational work capacity, and the MULE upper limb rehabilitation training system uses computer software to assess and rehabilitate upper limb functions, both being the first introduced domestically. The hospital currently has nearly 120 rehabilitation beds and over 80 various professional technical personnel, including 17 with intermediate or above professional titles, among which 6 with senior titles, 2 masters, 4 in-service graduate students, and 1 national first-class prosthetist and orthotist. It is a member unit of the Chinese Rehabilitation Medicine Association, a council unit of the Chinese Rehabilitation Medicine Association, and a vice chairman unit of the Chinese Rehabilitation Therapy Association, with Professor Lu Yun from Louisiana State University Medical School Biomechanics Laboratory and New Orleans Rehabilitation Center Orthotic and Prosthetic Department and Dr. Chen Zhixuan from Hong Kong Polytechnic University hired as visiting professors. Under the strong support and leadership of the Municipal Labor and Social Security Bureau and Municipal Social Insurance Rehabilitation Management Center, the hospital's various construction projects have made progress. Currently, the hospital's main business directions are neurological rehabilitation, orthopedic rehabilitation, burn rehabilitation, and occupational rehabilitation, forming unique characteristics in hemiplegia, paraplegia, amputation, hand trauma, and burn recovery rehabilitation, with paralysis motor therapy, hydrotherapy, neurofacilitation techniques, weight-reduction treatment techniques, prosthetic and orthotic fabrication, occupational rehabilitation, and disability function assessment all at domestic leading levels.
