About
Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital of Fudan University was developed from the first specialized obstetrics and gynecology hospital in China - Simon Women and Children Hospital, founded in 1884 by American Margaret Williamson. Because the English name when it was founded was Margaret Williamson Red House Hospital, it is affectionately called "Red House Hospital" by the general public and patients, and has been repeatedly rated as a Shanghai Civilized Unit. Over the past hundred years, under the joint efforts of Professor Wang Shuzhen, one of the founders of Chinese obstetrics and gynecology, and several generations of obstetricians and gynecologists, the hospital has continuously expanded in scale and developed rapidly in disciplines, cultivating and creating a large number of experts and professors. Currently, the hospital has complete subspecialties, balanced discipline development, and a complete talent echelon. It is a well-known tertiary Grade A specialized hospital in the country integrating medical treatment, teaching and research.
