Children's Hospital of Fudan University was founded in 1952 as a National Health Commission budget management unit, tertiary Grade-A hospital, and a comprehensive children's specialty hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, research, prevention, and management. It is a national pediatrics key discipline, national "211 Project," "985 Project," and "Double First-Class" construction unit, and was the earliest authorized by the nation for pediatrics master's and doctoral degrees and clinical medicine postdoctoral mobile station. In rankings released by the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences for hospital scientific and technological competitiveness, Fudan University for best specialty reputation, and Peking University for best clinical disciplines, our hospital's pediatrics consistently ranks at the forefront. In January 2017, approved as National Children's Medical Center. In December 2017, became Asia's first academic children's medical center passing sixth edition JCI standard re-evaluation. Fudan University Shanghai Medical College Pediatrics Department is located at Children's Hospital, annually undertaking clinical teaching and internship training for over 1,000 students from Fudan University's 8-year and 5-year clinical medicine programs, preventive medicine, public health, and other specialties; possessing 7 doctoral programs and 10 master's programs with over 200 graduate students enrolled annually. Possessing national pediatrics and pediatric surgery resident standardized training bases, 13 Shanghai pediatric subspecialty and pediatric surgery physician training bases, and national neonatology and pediatric anesthesia specialty bases, annually training over 210 residents and specialty physicians. Annually training over 350 long-term advanced study students and 300 short-term advanced study students, having trained over 10,000 advanced study physicians nationwide.
