Children's Hospital of Fudan University was founded in 1952 as a National Health Commission budget management unit, tertiary Grade-A hospital, and a comprehensive children's specialty hospital integrating medical treatment, teaching, research, prevention, and management. Fudan University Shanghai Medical College Pediatrics Department is located at Children's Hospital, annually undertaking clinical teaching and internship training for over 1,000 students from Fudan University's 8-year and 5-year clinical medicine programs, preventive medicine, public health, and other specialties; possessing 7 doctoral programs and 10 master's programs with over 200 graduate students enrolled annually.
