About
Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, integrates medical treatment, teaching, research, prevention and international exchange. It is a tertiary Grade A comprehensive hospital focusing on the treatment of cardiopulmonary vascular diseases and holds a leading position in the national cardiovascular field. In recent years, adhering to the hospital-running philosophy of "strong specialties, large comprehensive," with prominent specialty features and strong multidisciplinary comprehensive strength, it enjoys a high reputation internationally. Beijing Anzhen Hospital was established in April 1984, Beijing Institute of Heart, Lung and Blood Vessel Diseases was established in September 1981, and Beijing Institute of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for Heart, Lung and Blood Vessel Diseases was established in 2014. The first two were both founded by Academician Wu Yingkai, the founder of China's thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. "One hospital and two institutes" form a national joint entity. Currently, the hospital covers an area of 76,500 square meters with annual hospital revenue of over 5 billion yuan. There are currently over 4,000 staff members, over 750 senior professional and technical personnel, and 1,500 approved inpatient beds. It has 10 clinical centers, 29 clinical departments, and 12 medical technology departments, with 1 national key discipline and 3 national clinical key specialties. Annual outpatient and emergency visits reach 2.7 million, with over 40,000 surgeries, including both cardiac internal and external surgeries breaking 10,000, and the disease difficulty CMI value consistently ranking among the forefront of Beijing medical institutions. Over the years, all hospital staff have upheld the hospital motto of "public diligence, strictness and integrity," carried forward and inherited Academician Wu Yingkai's spirit, actively undertaken social responsibilities, committed to the coordinated development of Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei, and excellently completed important tasks such as emergency medical treatment, support for western regions, and international medical assistance. The National Health Commission awarded the Beijing Anzhen Hospital Guinea Medical Team the honor of Advanced Collective for Ebola Hemorrhagic Fever Epidemic Prevention and Control. It has been awarded the title of Civilized Unit of the Capital Health System multiple times and has successively cultivated a group of outstanding medical workers including National Advanced Workers in Medicine and Health, Florence Nightingale Medal recipients, Capital Labor Medal recipients, and Top Ten Health Guards of the Capital.
