Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, integrates medical treatment, teaching, research, prevention and international exchange. It is a tertiary Grade A comprehensive hospital focusing on the treatment of cardiopulmonary vascular diseases and holds a leading position in the national cardiovascular field. In recent years, adhering to the hospital-running philosophy of "strong specialties, large comprehensive," with prominent specialty features and strong multidisciplinary comprehensive strength, it enjoys a high reputation internationally. Beijing Anzhen Hospital was established in April 1984, Beijing Institute of Heart, Lung and Blood Vessel Diseases was established in September 1981, and Beijing Institute of Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine for Heart, Lung and Blood Vessel Diseases was established in 2014. The first two were both founded by Academician Wu Yingkai, the founder of China's thoracic and cardiovascular surgery. "One hospital and two institutes" form a national joint entity. Currently, the hospital covers an area of 76,500 square meters with annual hospital revenue of over 5 billion yuan. There are currently over 4,000 staff members, over 750 senior professional and technical personnel, and 1,500 approved inpatient beds. It has 10 clinical centers, 29 clinical departments, and 12 medical technology departments, with 1 national key discipline and 3 national clinical key specialties. Annual outpatient and emergency visits reach 2.7 million, with over 40,000 surgeries, including both cardiac internal and external surgeries breaking 10,000, and the disease difficulty CMI value consistently ranking among the forefront of Beijing medical institutions.
