Beijing First Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital is a tertiary Grade A integrated TCM and Western medicine hospital sponsored by Chaoyang District Government, integrating medical treatment, research, teaching, preventive healthcare, and emergency services. The main campus is located in the core area of CBD. The hospital's predecessor was the 'Beiping Eastern Suburb Civilian Hospital' founded by patriotic general Song Zheyuan in 1936. In 1997, the hospital was rated as a secondary Grade A Western medicine comprehensive hospital. After 80 years of development, the hospital has become a medical center in the eastern Chaoyang area and received the honorary title of 'National People's Reassurance Demonstration Hospital.' In 2014, the hospital transformed into an integrated TCM and Western medicine hospital and was renamed Beijing First Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital. In 2015, it was upgraded to a tertiary Grade A integrated TCM and Western medicine hospital. The hospital currently has 5 campuses (CBD Campus, Dongba Campus, TCM Campus, Geriatric Campus, and the under-construction Laiguangying Campus), covering an area of 61,300 square meters with a building area of 32,600 square meters and 1,513 authorized beds. The hospital currently has over 1,000 staff members, including over 800 health professionals and over 130 with master's degrees or above.
