Beijing Emergency Center
北京急救中心
infoAbout
Beijing Emergency Center is a medical rescue institution directly under the Beijing Municipal Health Commission, located on West Qianmen Street. Its predecessor was the Beijing Red Cross Emergency Station. In 1983, the Italian government cooperated with the Chinese government to build the Beijing Emergency Center, which officially began operations on March 25, 1988, simultaneously opening the 120 emergency telephone line. At that time, it had both pre-hospital emergency care and in-hospital medical treatment sections. It was rated as a tertiary Grade-A emergency center in 1997. In 2004, the Beijing Emergency Medical Rescue Center was added. In 2005, it underwent partial functional transformation and abolished the in-hospital medical section. Currently, it mainly undertakes tasks including citywide 120 command and dispatch, daily medical emergency services and emergency medical rescue for emergencies, emergency network construction and management, and popularization and training of emergency knowledge.
